OUR MISSION

To exceed customer expectations by providing quality meat products and excellent customer service.

Hahn’s Family Meats can trace its roots back over a hundred years to 1869 when it was a family-run meat packing and processing plant that delivered its products to Baltimore by wagon. Hahn’s has always been committed to our legacy of using tried-and-true techniques that preserve flavor and quality in the products we make. This includes using special curing processes and custom blending of spices and seasonings to achieve unparalleled taste. Moreover, each cut of meat is trimmed, ground, sliced and seasoned to perfection following traditional methods.

The dedication to excellence doesn’t just stop at our products, however. Our team at Hahn’s ensures that our principles extend to our customer service, a trait inherited from the original owners of the company who viewed every client as family. Whether you’re a long-time customer or someone trying for the first time, the Hahn’s team is committed to making your experience as great as possible.

Hahn’s is ever evolving, and change comes with a new generation joining the family business. New ideas, new flavors, new approaches. Modernizing all aspects of how we deliver our product to you. But there are some things that remain constant – honoring the past and commitment to quality. Hahn’s of Westminster may have changed hands and expanded over the years, but we remain dedicated to staying true to the core values that have sustained our success. If William Myers and the Hahn Brothers could see what their businesses have become, they would surely feel immense pride. Their legacy and commitment to quality continues to be the guiding principles at Hahn’s and is kept alive by the Ladzinski family.

So, next time you bite into a slice of Hahn’s premium cut or one of their traditionally cured and smoked meats, know that there’s over a century of history, family, hard work, and quality behind it. That’s the Hahn’s difference, and it tastes as timeless as ever.

CORE VALUES

Concentrate on producing quality products while maintaining a focus on the integrity of our business, contributing to our community, and supporting a family environment worthy of handing down to future generations.

OUR HISTORY

Our Story Begins
Our story begins back in 1896, in Carroll County, Maryland, where William F. Myers established a meat packing and processing business. He would transport his products from his plant located at Liberty and Green St. in Westminster, MD to Baltimore, distributing them throughout the city.
Our Story Begins
1896
The Creation of Hahn’s of Westminster
William’s daughters married two siblings, Joseph and Norval Hahn, whom he involved in the business. This collaboration led to the creation of Hahn’s of Westminster in 1918.
1918
Henry F. Redmer, Jr. Joins Hahn's
Fast forward 30 years to 1948, the Hahn brothers involved their cousin, Henry F. Redmer, Jr. in the business. Henry was tasked with selling the products in Baltimore, taking orders throughout the day, and ensuring delivery to Westminster for processing and dispatch the next day.
1948
Expansion and Change in Ownership
By 1968, the business had expanded its delivery area to the entire tri-state area. Eventually, the Redmer family gained ownership of Hahn’s.
1968
Retirement and a Merger
In 1981, the business owners of William F. Myers, who were cousins of the Hahns, decided to retire. This led to the merging of Wm F. Myers & Sons and Hahn’s of Westminster, under the ownership of the Redmer family. They continued to run it until it was sold to a long-serving employee, Ed Ladzinski, in 2006.

TODAY
Ed Ladzinski, with over 30 years of experience in the meat industry, propelled Hahn’s to new heights after assuming ownership. His knowledge and drive allowed him to build a management team that combined old staff with new. Ed’s approach to leadership, which involved all managers in decision-making, was key to the success Hahn’s has enjoyed under his leadership.

Despite a significant expansion, Ed remained loyal to Hahn’s original principles of quality products, traditional recipes, and customer loyalty. Today, Hahn’s remains a family business with Ed’s wife Jessica, having worked in the business for over 20 years, and his daughter, Amanda, joining him in leadership roles.
